Rain,Rain ,Rain!

We have had our first decent rain in about six months last night, I listened to the thunder and lightning most of the night. So looking forward to not having to dust every day! Minki didn't like the noise one bit. Everything is newly washed this morning. I can't wait for the new grass shoots to show, the horses and goats are going to so enjoy them. I have included  photos of two of my favourite trees in the garden.

This is a indigenous tree in my garden called the "Raasblaar" It is covered in Wisteria like blooms this time of year. Those flowers smell heavenly.

Mr Frog came to visit my Rock Garden

 Mr Frog on his way

This is the Rhodesian Mahogany, we have lots of them around our homestead and they provide as with welcome shade during our hot and humid summers. The bats also love them.

  1. Congratulations on the good rain! I know how refreshing it can be to see/smell/hear it and then reap the rewards of fresh growth from it! Texas gets plenty hot and dry in the summer - even our northeastern part of it - so when the fall rains come in for a bit, it's a real gift!

    I like your rock garden!

  2. I know the rain was a welcome sight and sound! We haven't had a rain in several weeks. I can't imagine going 6 months without one.

The pictures are so good. I really love the one of the frog in your rock garden!
    Have a great weekend.

  3. Can you send me some of that rain??? We go 5 or 6 weeks without any then it'll rain 5 inches in one day.

  4. It's raining here today, also. The difference is that this year we have had plenty of rain. Everything has been nice and green, all through the Summer.

I'm glad that you're getting the rain that you need. That first tree is lovely, by the way, with those gorgeous purple flowers.

  6. We finally received some rain a few days ago. I awoke during the night wondering what that noise was! It had been so long, but not six months. I cannot imagine going that long without rain!
