Chicks Working On Their Suntan

The hen who hatched the guinea fowl eggs had some eggs hatch a few days later and she was ignoring these little ones, so I took them "under my wing" so to speak. I took them outside yesterday to learn to scratch and peck around like chicks should do and they just loved the sunshine!

Ahh,bliss!

Hard at work on the tan...

Mmmm....

Come a little closer, ant...

It's possible to feed while lying on your side! Yaj!

Whoops,where's the sun gone too?

Hey,Bro,I think we should tan our tummies now!

Ok,whatever...

Ok,sweet and all,but you have to go back inside your coop now,I've got to go make supper!

Whaaat?

No,just a little more...

Not yet!

  5. Those are the most adorable little bundles of fuzz that I have seen in quite some time. I'm glad that they don't live at my house though, because I would be so bewitched by them that I wouldn't be able to pay attention to anything else.

  9. Hello Liesl!
Thank you for stopping by my blog today and leaving a comment...it's nice to 'meet' you! Goodness you live a long way from Kansas but what a beautiful place to live. So you have endurance horses...I used to have horses when I lived in British Columbia but I still hope to have them again now that we've moved to the country. I had a little Arabian who made a wonderful 'trail' horse. I'm going to come back again tomorrow and look around your blog. Right now it's just after midnight and I'm tired from the bathroom renovation! I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  10. I forgot to tell you how much I enjoyed your post....that is the sweetest post I think I've ever seen about chicks! How cute to see them laying in the sun soaking it all up...I bet it felt wonderful to feel that warmth. I'll be watching for updates on how they're doing :) Good night.
